May 2016 - Dec 2017

Freelance Web Developer

I've freelanced quite a bit over the years but in 2016 and 2017 it was my primary source of income. It allowed me the opportunity to work on many different projects with all kinds of people. The biggest thing I learned during this time was communication. Plus things like: setting expectations, accurately estimating work, invoicing and working through project difficulties.

Sept 2011 - Apr 2016

Junior Web Developer @ Off The Wall Media

This is where my professional web development journey began. I got a crash-course in production development - how to gather project requirements, plan and execute to deliver the final product to the client. OTWM managed their own servers and hosted dozens of client websites so I was at times responsible for configuring new sites and debugging server issues.
